VANANGA MAN
Coordinating Committee for the Mercy Mission to Vanni
Our people in Vanni are facing an ever worsening plight for their very existence. There is an immediate need to raise awareness of this, far and wide, particularly in the absence of any appropriate action by international monitors and organizations. In this context, the British Tamil Diaspora have come together to launch an unprecedented Mercy Mission to Vanni. Various charities have joined together to initiate this Mission, but we are confident that many more charities and organisations will join to support this effort.
‘Vananga-Mann’ Mercy Mission to Vanni has four Objectives:
- Take much needed food, medical aid and other basic necessities, including doctors, to Vanni
- Raise awareness amongst the public and gain their support for the plight of our people
- Encourage well known personalities, humanitarians, politicians and charities to endorse this Mission to gain maximum publicity, including media attention
- Let our people in Vanni know that we are right beside them!
We have approximately two more weeks for the ship to sail and that means we have a huge task ahead of us to:
- To inform the plight of our people to as many people as possible
- Collect necessary food supplies & donations from public (a list will be made available soon)
- Gain the support of charities
- Mobilize Medical Professionals, MPs, well-known personalities and Media personnel who can make the journey
It is important that each one of us do what we can to make this project a success. Please try your best to donate some TIME!
